Model theory, the area in mathematical logic which focuses broadly on mathematical theories and structures, has long been show to have applications to other areas of mathematics. Some of these famously include the Mordell-Lang Conjecture, Ax's Theorem, and the Nullstellensatz. In this talk, we will explore the nature of the connections between model theory and combinatorics, as well as examine a few examples. This talk is intended to be educational and entertaining, and I hope you all can make it!
