Ergodic theory, being the study of invariant measures of dynamical systems, and Ramsey theory, being the study of structures within partitions of sets, seem like they would have little relation to each other. However it turns out that the two are very much connected and many Ramsey theory problems can be solved using methods from ergodic theory. In this talk we will see some examples of this and the link between ergodic and Ramsey theory.
