The divide between traditional and experimental combinatorialists is at a breaking point. In a recent talk, it was claimed that linear algebra is useful because of set systems and discrete geometry. These are surely important applications, but nowhere were the basic linear algebra tools of an experimentalist: Deriving recurrence relations, automatic summation, and systems of equations. I will give an experimental take on linear algebra, hopefully bringing us together as a family once more.
