DIMACS very much regrets that it has been forced to cancel the workshop on databases and the WWW scheduled for July 29-30 in Princeton.
We recognize that a last minute cancellation is a great inconvenience for many people. Please understand that this decision was not reached without a considerable amount of soul-searching. We have run almost 100 workshops since DIMACS was founded, and this is the first one which had to be cancelled under such circumstances.
If you have incurred non-refundable travel costs in connection with this workshop, we ask that you get in touch with DIMACS' Center Administrator, Sarah Donnelly: email@example.com or 908-445-4449.
On Tuesday, July 30, beginning at 9 A.M., Alon Levy at AT&T Research in Murray Hill will be organizing an informal program on databases and the web. Alon will be happy to include anyone who contacts him by noon on Friday, July 26. Please contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org or 908-582-5641. DIMACS will sponsor a dinner following the program, and all participants are invited.
There is some possibility we will try to reschedule this workshop. If you are interested in this possibility, please send a message giving us your views.
If you would like to discuss any of this, or simply want to vent your anger or frustration, please feel free to contact either one of us.
